jimparedes: Why is it that when someone dies, we take comfort imagining that he/she has just gone on a long trip. But when someone we love leaves for a long trip, why can’t we take comfort when someone tells us to just imagine that he/she has died? Is it a case of  A equals B, but not vice-versa?
